2. After one month of shippment, the company can not provide whereabout of items.

Unicorn handle our shipment to shanghai with excellent service. They follow up our shipment every 2 to 3 days and notify us of the customs situation. Overall i am happy with their service.

Special thanks to Unicorn team in both US and Singapore. I am pleased to inform none of my household goods was damaged during the whole moving transition fm Singapore to Houston. You've done a great job and i will not hesitate to recommend your company to my friends and colleagues still in Singapore.

I am suddenly informed of additional charges for which I have no idea for. Efforts to reach Thomas Lim has been in vain. Can someone please reply to me? I have already left messages via phonecalls, sms and emails.

I can see lots of comment about this company good and bad, but one thing we can't denied is that alot of people use their service for overseas relocation. My grandpa use them too for our shipment back to UK, after all they deliver our goods on-time and we have no complains. There are good and bad of every movers and Unicorn is not the only company to be blame. Overall, i rate them on good service.

Promised door to door international relocation service but my package has been stuck for more than 2 weeks in a warehouse. Never answers calls. Did a check with the authorities, its a Singapore private limited company with only $20 paid up capital. Incorporated only in 2004. Avoid!!! Extremely bad service! Very fast when they clear your cheque, but you can forget about good service after that. Kenneth Lim, WHERE IS MY PACKAGE!!!!!!
Anthony Lau
They sent my 40' container to Sydney. As promised, they did the unpacking and clear away the debris. Pretty good service in Sydney as they have their own Unicorn office with strong operations team to coordinate very step of my move. Keep it up the good job! Thanks Unicorn
Suresh
a few of my friends from SIA engineering relocated to india using your service and was highly recommeded by them to use you. I must say that your india office is comparable to the top moving companies in india although they're quite new in the market. Job well done

Hi Thomas, i received my goods all in order. I'm now teaching in a university in dubai and hoping you to drop by should you visit your branch office here. Its nice to know you personally and your team in singapore.

Thank you to Unicorn Removal team. I've been moving for the past 18 years and very satisfied on your overall performance. I must say your company made me feel that Singapore can also produce a worldclass movers.

Thomas, we move our personal belongings from Sin to Ho Chi Minh City last month through your organization. Mr Hung from Unicorn Vietnam had provided us the best assistance we ever had on the customs clearance although we encounter some problems with the customs authority. I will recommend your company to all my colleagues and friends to use you for any relocations in the near future. Thanks alot.
George
MOST HORRIBLE. MY SHIPMENT COLLECTED ON 3MAR06 (SINGAPORE TO VANCOUVER) TIL NOW 10MAY06 - NOT ARRIVED YET. EMAILED AND CALLED BUT PROVIDE EXCUSES AND LIES.
TOTALLY UN-PROFESSIONAL.

I do not know much about relocation services provided by this company but I am sure of the services provided by Mr Thomas Lim has not been satisfactory as I have not received any official quotations from him since 4 weeks ago. If a simple quotation cannot been provided for, how can we be assured of delivery of our goods? Pls advise how am I able to contact him as I believe I am not the only one is having this problem here.
Rachel
i was surprised with the comment in this forum. We have completed our packing and goods loaded into the container through Unicorn movers, the crew did an excellent job throughout the two days of packing. Thomas Lim had provided us the shipment details with their destination office contacts. I do not foresee any diffculty dealing with this company.

WORST EVER. Dates incorrect, hidden charges, lies, failure to repond to letters/e-mails/ telephone calls, even failure to respond to CASE. Legal action on the way and hopefully newspaper articles too. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY
Paul
unicorn was our inbound movers here handling our container when we relocated from sweden. i appreciate their good service and was suprised to see negative comments on them, but i'm sure they will hv my support again.
Peter Davies
UPDATE. Unicorn continue to lie - now on radio - failed to turn up at a Small Claims Tribunal and now have Writ of Seizure and Sale against them. BUT they do live up to their name - after they get your cheque(cashier's order?) they disappear and an anagram of their name is RUIN and CON. VERY APT.
All these positive comments must be written by their own staff! The saga will continue - watch this space!

Straight from the start Unicorn has been pathetic. Firstly, they miss quoted us, after we had not heard from them for a month, their agent in NZ told us we had to pay more. when our stuff arrived, things were missing. Absolutely shite. DO NOT GO WITH THEM!!!!
Jan Hengst
Do yourself a favour: AVOID THESE PEOPLE. Our experience with Unicorn for our move to Mexico: low quote that turned out to be wrong and was increased by 75%, underestimation of volume so part of shipment was simply left behind, refusal to prepare required import documents, no payment to destination agent (so we had to pay them again), sub-standard packaging materials so our goods got damaged and failure to show proof of insurance. On top of all that we got treated very rude by Kenneth and Thomas Lim (if we managed to get a hold of them at all) and eventually they both ignored all calls and e-mails. Don't just take our word for it, we contacted two insurance companies Unicorn claims to work with: the first one had stopped the cooperation because of overdue payments, the other one was already having many problems. We're seriously considering legal action against these crooks.

If you leave Singapore and appoint U for packing, you better appoint a lawyer right away as long as you are in Singapore. Their “oversees offices” on their website do not exist and they misuse the reputation of a US company that has nothing to do with them.
Expect the following: (1) their packing takes days (2) thereafter they will treat your stuff very badly (3) they will delay delivery for more than 3 months so the (questionable) insurance expires (4) after those 3 months they will not respond to any fax, call, email or letter (4) they will lie to you from the first moment you speak to them (5) they will charge you twice the amount of their quote (6) they will never pay the agent in your country
This is what happens to me and their “oversees office” here tells me it is U’s standard business practice. Still waiting for my stuff after 4 months, the local agent here withholds it (no money received) and tells me the boxes are in a lousy condition.
George
Sorry, forgot one item: (7) check their quote, hidden "port" charges are to be paid by you. Typically that is at least about SGD 1000 depending on your country and shipment volume (if everything would go smoothly it would be about max. SGD 600). U's delays can however make it quite expensive. According to the local agent here these delays can easily cause up to SGD 4000 in total.

Torsten!
Thanks so much for your information. Have you another e-mail address - your cerrent one keeps getting returned.
Cheers

Terrible servicecs. Thomas told me that it will take between 4 - 6 weeks to ship from Singapore to NZ. My shipment was collected in mid June 06. It is now end of October and I am still without my stuffs. The company in Auckland siad that Unicorn has not paid them and my shipment has been held there since early September. My sister has been constantly calling Patrick who keep saying that they will be paying tomorrow and I will receive my shipment by end of the week. I guess he forgot to say which tomorrow will Unicorn be paying. There is nothing but LIES LIES LIES AND EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES. My email to them has ALWAYS bounced back to me. DO NOT HAVE YOUR SHIPMENT SENT BY THIS COMPANY. IT IS UNRELIABLE, DISHONEST, UNCOMMUNICATIVE. It is the MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I HAVE TO DATE.
TOTALLY UN-PROFESSIONAL.

I had a shipment sent from Singapore to Australia by Unicorn. Unfortunately, we had nearly $12,000.00USD worth of items stolen from our shipment. They took the items from indivdual boxes which only they knew what was in each box. The MD, Thomas Lim also said he would take 2 items of special value and secure these in his office until the shipment left. I think these 2 itens are in his house somewhere. I also paid for insurance but have not been able to claim as they did not take out an insurance policy which I had paid for. This organisation is a den of thieves running a scam on unsuspecting customers and I would strongly advise that everyone give this organisation a very wide berth. Clearly I made some errors but it is interesting to see that many others have been affected.

If I had read the reviews above in
August 2006, I would not choose them for my shipment from Singapore to Australia. After they packed my items in early september, I didn't hear from them until mid October. They initially told me they have their own office in OZ, but it is an agent who called me for custom clearance. what's more, they shipped my items to Sydney instead of melbourne. The worst, after the clearance, the agent rang us again saying they won't deliver my items as unicorn didn't pay them. Very difficult to catch Thomas and patrick, most of time either not in office or not picking up the handphone. No respond to the email, except one asking if I would be willing to pay their outstanding with OZ agent. Keeps saying they will pay this friday, but so many fridays past, they still didn't pay. Now I don't know where my goods is and the status of it, stolen? damaged? How can I end this nightmare?
Jane
1. they shipped my items to a wrong port.
2. they claims they have own offices in australia, but actually it is an agent.
3. they don't pay their agent, so I can't get my goods. the goods was packed in early september, but now mid dec, I still haven't got my items.
3. they don't respond to my email except one asking if I'm willing to pay their outstandings with the agent.
4. Very very difficult to catch them over the phone, most of time, nobody picking up the calls in the office even. and thomas will not pick up my call so I have to get someone else to call his handphone to speak to him.
5. always promise to pay by the end of the week, but NEVER PAID.
Annie
Update - I finally got my shipment but they were very late and I had to pay the extras! Take my advice, don't use their service. They are out to fleece you and when your goods onboard, what else can you do? If anyone wants to consider legal action and need my input, feel free to contact me.
Ying
BE AWARE! Using Unicorn is the worst decision we have ever made. They are only fast in cashing yr check. Never inform you about the whereabouts after 1.5 month. Wrong date put on shipping paper. Charge more than the actual volume. Extremely difficult to be contacted. The local agent used by Unicord in USA said Unicorn did not fully pay them and they had to withhold our shipment until they paid. Unicorn kept denied this fact for 3 weeks until they finally paid which result in the delay of the delivery. Packed in Nov 10 and was only be able to get the stuff on Jan 10.
If you want to ask for trouble, go for it!
Ying
More to add to my previous comment. 1. We had to US$300 extra to the delivery company here in US which was never told by Unicorn.
2. When I contact the insurance company here in US after 1 month of our shipment. The insurance company said they never receive the payment. It is after I email Thomas to request the insurance paper, they paid and I go the insurance. Imagine what if I didn't contact the insurance company.
3. Advice: keep calling them. Record the phone conversation in email and sent to them, same all the copies. Have everything in writing will keep them afraid of future lawsuit.
4. After reading all the other negative review, I felt so lucky that at least I got back all my stuff and did get some compensation for damaged stuff from the insurance company.

So many people have been ripped off by these con artists. We need to organise a way of pursuing them. Does anyone have any ideas? Is anyone in Singapore who can access a lawyer? I think there would be many people willing to support such a case.
Rudy
We plan to pursue ALL means available in Singapore to get even with them. I need all your support, like providing us all documents that Unicorn provided and failed to fulfil. Also, your lost (in $ value if possible) and how many times you tried contacting them (with date and time if possible), how they reacted to your call, etc. And, any issue with their insurance and local agent.
If you have pictures of them (Thomas, Kenneth, Patrick, or their workers) it'd be very helpful for us.
Kindly drop us email to the address above.
FYI, they purposely did not pick up your calls since they have caller number display.
Peter
Yes, i support Daniel's idea. Now, unicorn's company phone is not reachable today. Thomas doesn't pick up my call. It looks lawer may be not useful. We may think about other ways to handle Thomas.
peter
Who has Thomas's home contact number? or Thomas's full name. We can call this guy everyday to his home number. Let him know we will chase him till we get our goods.
Grant
Relocated from Singapore to UK in Dec 2006. We dealt with Kenneth. Was told that our goods would arrive at the end of Jan. Have not been able to contact Unicorn. Was told by the packers (ASIA-TRANS RELOCATION & LOGISTICS) today (8th Feb 2007) that our goods are still at the warehouse. They said they have not been paid by Unicorn but are willing to arrange the shipping (for payment of course). Are they independent? Has anyone else reported this to the police?
Clyde Lake
This company is the most dishonest unethical company I have ever dealt with. The whole experience was a nightmare. Additional charges were made without my permission. US$2000 worth of goods were stolen. The Singapore police were no help at all. This company is criminal and there is no help from anyone in Singapore.

I used Unicorn from Singapore to KL and they were brilliant - nothing went missing and it was a 2 day delivery at a good price. Due to this I used them again for shipping the same items (unpacked from 1st delivery) from KL to Thailand - They collected the money but then demanded extra for customs which was of course rubbish as they hadn't even collected the goods yet from KL so how could they just pluck a figure out of the sky - Patrick was very rude, I could almost hear him smirking on the phone, I called another day to ask for Thomas and got through - he was on the other line, I called back 20 mins later but was told he was out of the country - all the phone lines are now dead. I will be filing a police report, contacting the press, emailing all my expat friends and the british council etc to ensure these people get as little as possible in the future from any new operations, this is fraud/ theft - i have a contact for a private debt collector who may use "alternatice tactics" - if the police are no use then I will go down this route. I am very surprised that the Singapore police have been unhelpful - you would think that they would be more useful considering that Singapore has tough laws and a transparent government. Lets just believe in Karma - what goes around comes around. I've been waiting 3 months for my delivery to happen and I have family arriving in Thailand from UK for a holiday they have worked hard and saved up for and my home there is an empty shell. My condolances goes out to those who have suffered greater loss than I have, thank got they never picked up my goods and I have nothing stolen, anybody thinking of using this mob - one word - DONT!
mary shin
I stored my household in singapore using them with the idea of having them relocate me. They have closed shop and disappeared with my householdgood and personal artifacts! The website, email and phones do not work. If anyone has any information on how to get in contact with these people please contact me and let me know.

Ten boxes of my stuffs are still stuck in Sydney though I relocated from Singapore to Melbourne a year and a half ago. They underestimated the volume of shipment and left these ten boxes behind in Singapore and did not have the courtesy to inform me. Only after threatening to report to the police did they agree to send the items. I thought that was the end of the nightmare, but it turned out I had to pay the agent in Sydney to secure the release of my goods. I absolutely refuse to pay as I believe the charges should be borne by Unicon. Rudy, I'm with you. I have kept all correspondences by email between Unicorn, myself and the Sydney agent. I have also complained to the Consumers Association in Spore but I think they also can't do anything. To anyone thinking of using this company, despite the good words from some, NEVER, EVER use this company. The nightmare caused me to lose a lot of sleep and weight!
Shirley Low
My husband and I were surprised to find out that we were not the only ones conned by Unicorn (and I dare say that many more will if the S'pore authority doesn't do something abt this company). Like most, we entrusted them with our household stuff to ship from S'pore to Brisbane in Jun 2006 when we relocated but ended up spending extras on legal fees, agent fee and storage charges as they did not pay the agent here who then held our furnitures as ransom. We only managed to retrieve our goods after we engaged a solicitor to fight our case and paying up some of the extras. In addition, lots of our valuable stuff were stolen but there's not a thing we could do as the insurance purchased is taken up by them. Police reports were made but we are also disappointed by their inaction. Obviously Thomas is aware that they can get away with this and I forsee lots more people being conned. But I believe that Thomas and his men will not come to a good end for all the pain and heartache they've caused!

I used Unicorn to send a shipment. They sent it to the wrong country, and it was returned back to Singapore. They wanted a second payment to send it again. I have at least 20 calls, and even called UTG in the UK, and spoke to a supposed "Director".
I finally managed to get my money & shipment back, but only after threatening them physically with some "friends".
They are banking on people not taking them to court, or confronting them in person. suggest.
