New one-way RoRo line from
Benelux to Stockholm
Kappa Packaging started on the 12th of November 2004 a new RoRo line between South of the Netherlands and Södertälje, 36 km south of Stockholm. The RoRo line is based on two new RoRo vessels.
Kappa Packaging have since many years a time scheduled traffic with two vessels from Piteå in Northern Sweden and southbound. These vessels are loading Kappa Packaging’s own cargo to two discharging ports at the North Continent and one in UK. Those both older vessels are now replaced with the new m/v Bothniaborg and m/v Balticborg.
Kappa Packaging has now actively started to operate and promote the North bound traffic as the RoRo line RoRo2Stockholm. This new RoRo line is based on long term conditions. Kappa Packaging has shipped their cargo onboard vessels in a time scheduled route for almost 30 years. The new RoRo line is a further development of this system.
The purpose is to use Kappa Packaging’s own traffic system optimally by letting the vessels be available for “external” cargo on the North bound leg.
The vessels are RoRo type and the most optimal cargo is semi trailers and other rollable cargo. As the stern ramp can take loads up to 165 mt we can also offer a good service for project cargos.
The RoRo line services will be weekly with departures from Terneuzen, NL on Friday afternoon and arrival to Södertälje, SE on Monday morning. After Södertälje the vessels continue up to Piteå, we can therefore also offer weekly service up to Northern Sweden.
