Rhine barge transporation
River barge transportation on the Rhine and all other European waterways is our main activity. Navis can haul anything from containers to grain to steel, or any other bulk commodity. Be it to or from free alongside ocean-vessel in Antwerp/Rotterdam/Amsterdam/Gent or any river served location you may desire. If you want to take it somewhere, we can ship it through our own organization with branches at the main Rhine River Ports and Rotterdam/Antwerp.
This network controls an important fleet of motor ships, push boats and barges. We were the pioneers of the push barges-system on the Rhine and were the first company offering this type of service on the Rhine to and from Basle

Stevedoring
Our handling installation with pre-stressed roof in the Basel Rhine port of Kleinhueningen guarantees that goods can be handled at all times regardless of weather conditions.
The handling system is equipped with grabs for loose goods as well as for unit loads and heavy loads up to 40 tons.

Warehousing
Attached to the stevedore and cargo handling facility, we maintain a warehouse with 5000 m2 floor space.
We mainly care for short- and mid-term storage of goods such as coffee, cacao, cellulose and animal feed additives, but also hold machinery ready for export and general cargo of all kinds.

Distribution
Whoever deals in the storage business must also have a good idea about the distribution of goods.
For this reason, we have built up distribution networks corresponding to the requirements of various goods. From our headquarters in Basel we serve all of Switzerland, southern Germany, Elsass and northern Italy, by rail and by lorry.

Grain handling
We are a leader in grain transportation.

International freight forwarding
Very early in our history, we have started to develop synergies between our main activity as barge operator and the handling and disposition of related ocean freight, rail- and truck transports.
In a way, we have extended the reach of the river Rhine and offer to our customers a competence centre for a worldwide door-to-door transport logistics chain.
Be it from Domat-Ems/Switzerland to Sumter, SC/USA, or from Kobe/Japan to Torino/Italy, we establish the right connection and assure a smooth and cost efficient routing.
