The service chain remains intact for the entire door-to-door process. Customs clearance, storage and transport are part of the functional chain which Kemi Shipping Oy has built for its customers. We also handle all necessary customs documentation.

Stevedoring
We plan and carry out ship loading and unloading. Our aim is to stow quickly and efficiently, and to ensure that goods are transported without damage. Advanced planning and co-operation between the different shipping parties leads to successful and cost-effective results. Competent stevedoring personnel and reliable equipment specifically suited to each task ensure flexible operations.

Forwarding
Kemi Shipping Oy oversees and ensures that the transport and storage service chain built through co-operation with the customers remains intact and functional all the way to the customer's doorstep. This responsibility includes specifically looking out for the customer’s interests and observing their instructions.
Forwarding represents different shippers, both exporters and importers, while also looking out for their interests. In practice, the task of forwarding is to ensure that the handling and other instructions provided by the shipper are followed precisely. Forwarding also ensures that the goods remain in flawless condition during their stay in the harbour area, and that the shippers are informed at each step of the shipping process. Another duty assumed by Forwarding is to build, together with the customers, functional transport and storage service chains. Forwarding arranges a precise schedule for port arrivals, and, when necessary, supervises customs procedures and door-to-door transportation arrangements.

Storage and transport
The Port of Kemi offers a total of 60,000 m² of modern, covered storage space. Both the cold and heated storage areas are fenced and monitored. The area is also equipped with modern access control systems. The Port of Kemi has storage areas for dangerous goods and temperature-controlled containers.
Container transports are handled flexibly. In addition to the normal transport equipment, the Port is equipped to handle sideloader- and tipping transports.

Clearance
Solid local knowledge is utilized in clearance to facilitate communications with different actors on the ship's behalf throughout its entire stay in port.
