Overview of activities and material necessary to fulfill a transport successfully:

- before loading preliminary work has to be done such as making stability-calculations and lashing-calculations, but also a stowage plan and lashing plan shall be made, all in cooperation with ports and charterers;

- in advance to arrival at the loading port the necessary materials for lashing and securing such as approved and tested lashing equipment, as well as other sea fastening materials such as dunnage must be checked and available. Cargo hold is to be prepared by separating eventually other cargo's by means of bulkheads;

- if the preliminary lashing calculations shows out cargo stoppers are needed, or if any party within the project require so, vessels adjustable cargo stoppers can be used or they has to be ordered and fabricated ashore in advance. Also hatch covers are to be prepared by securing them and if necessary by placing hatch cover supports;

- during loading ships officers and crew assist with placing and stowing cargo units and give directions, and suggestions to stevedores. Stowage of cargo units will as far as possible be done in such a way that it will minimize the sea fastening work;

- in the mean time ships crew take care of the optimal trim and list for accurate placing of cargo units, and they watch the ships stability during loading as well;

- after loading, but mostly during loading ships crew commence with sea fasten the cargo units. Utmost care is taken to prevent any damage to a cargo unit, even not any coating damage;

- on request Hartman Seatrade can guarantee no damage to any coating due to ship crews lashing and securing job, throughout the voyage;

- crews job at sea comprises checking the state of cargo units or parts of it; checking if cargo doesn't move; checking of lashings, stoppers and weldings added to the cargo units. In severe weather they shall prevent any damage to cargo and ship. If needed lashings will be added.
