Recently moved goods to Australia. Packers were very efficient & all has gone well.

R Martin

I had a nightmare with Dolphin Movers. Avoid them at all costs if you don’t want your blood pressure to sky-rocket.

The original quote was nowhere near the final amount and they did not honor their stated price schedule which should have adjusted the per cubic foot rate based upon quantity.

My shipment is delayed by 3-4 weeks because of missing paperwork from another shipment (I am still waiting for my belongings) and my wife and I are sleeping on the floor of my new apartment.

They misled me by providing only partial information, took advantage of my lack of experience with international shipping and then told me that I was an adult and could have chosen any company so basically it is my fault for not knowing more.

Ultimately, he is right – I should have known better. I hope that this will help you: avoid this Dolphin Movers like the plague.

I used Dolphin Movers to move from UK to North Cyprus and I was extreemly pleased with the outcome. The packers were fantastic and everything arrived on time and in tact

Like R Martin, I had a nightmare with Dolphin Movers. Smooth and all-promising, they categorically promised me my shipment would take one month. It was three weeks late.

And one box - probably the most expensive, containing my CD collection painstakingly put together over 20 years - went missing in action. Probably because it had felt-tipped onto the cardboard box 'CDs' - all the other boxes were very cleverly labelled in a similar way, so thieves en route could pick out the best boxes.

They proved to be utterly unsympathetic when I tried to trace the missing box and, as their insurance had been so expensive, I had stupidly under-insured my CDs. I had never thought that just one box could go missing but understood that I was insuring against the rare possibility of water damage, storms etc to my entire ship, emt (as advised by them). So I only ever got £500 back for a collection worth three times that.

I wouldn't recommend Dolphin IN THE LEAST - spend a bit more on a company that cares a bit more - but I would recommend you think carefully about insuring your shipment - it's more common than these guys will tell you for things to go missing.

This is the worst company i have ever dealt with, the guys at the company will tell you it takes 4 weeks for shipment , but do not trust these guys its been 4 months i haven't yet received my package.

They tell you they will ship your package by the next possible container and they don't send it for 2 months, giving reasons that the container wasn't full so they cannot send your goods, they will charge you a lot of money for the crap service, and then again you will have to pay the same amount at your destination, will never use this company again and wouldn't recommend as well.

I have moved to a different country and trusted this company so that i will get my stuff on time, and now i have spent so much money for the stuff i already have but because of these guys its not with me.

Also the guys ( CEM ) at the company are so rude when you email them they will ask you to contact the agents in your country and wont help you.

I strongly pray to god that this company shuts down soon or something happens to this company for the trouble they have given me and are not ready to help me.

I initially contacted Dolphin Movers January of this year and asked that they send an assessor to produce a quote to move my household on the 15th May 2010. The assessor came to my house on 26th January to assess the contents that I was moving. It was my expectation from conversations with theassessor that he was extremely experienced and our move to the USA would be smooth and uneventful. I received the initial quote on February 4th and a revised quote on February 9th. At no time was it brought to my attention that my shipment might be split and arrive at different times. I subsequently signed the contract and paid the required fee and subsequently paid the full balance as requested prior to the packers arriving

On the 29th March the packing team came on site and seemed to do a good job of packing my house and I was satisfied with their services. I left on vacation believing that Dolphin would handle all of my needs.

On 16th April, I received an email from Dolphin telling me that I had to pay a terminal handling charge. I wrote back on the 17th asking for clarification on why this charge was not included in the quotation and received a reply on the 19th. I was not informed that I needed to settle this issue quickly as there was a limit to the time allowed for storage at the terminal and I would be subject to charges of $160 to $350 per day for delayed payment! Had I known this I would have called Dolphin immediately and paid by debit card. Had Dolphin staff indicated the urgency of this and replied in a timely manner I would not have incurred such charges. The result of this was that I was finally charged $2,360 as the terminal would not release my shipment until all charges were paid. In this I hold Dolphin negligent in managing the move of my goods to the US

On the 4th or 5th May I was surprised by another call from Dolphin telling me that the quoted overflow of 134 cu ft was in fact incorrect and that the real figure was 345 cu ft and that I would have to pay an additional £1,100 to get the overflow shipment sent. I am appalled at how this has occurred. I engaged Dolphin and THEIR staff assessed my house to deliver a quote. The quote which I accepted based on their price was based on THEIR assessment and now I have been forced to pay as Dolphin would not ship unless I did so. I also noted on unpacking the first shipment that the packers had packed some boxes with only 1 or 2 items. This has lead me to believe that some of the misquotation was due to having too few items in boxes.

I have finally been contacted by the shipping company Dolphin contracted with in the US. The second shipment finally arrived in the US on June 21st 2010 and cleared through customs and at the agents site on 1st July again I am faced with a $431 charge for examination of my goods.. Again I am being made to wait. It is now 12th July and I have not yet been informed when my shipment might arrive. It is clear from this that Dolphin Movers has picked an agent in the US who is not at all interested in providing a reasonably speedy service and I am to wait until it is convenient for them to bring my shipment to my house.

I am in the process of making a complaint to Dolphin and I expect to continue this complaint through the British Association of Removers

I had to write to complement the men who came to our house to pack. All 4 of them were very polite, professional and courteous at all times. They all worked long days without complaint and were focussed on their work wile finding the extra energy jovial.

We found them to be a delight to be around and made our move so easy for us.

An unforgettable miserable experience from beginning to end! On the agreed date, no packers appeared, until I phoned the secretary, the only one available in the office (Kyrenia, North Cyprus). She informed me that her boss had left for England. She did produce his mobile no. and I rang him to get the incredible excuse of his having to deal with his divorce. What about the packing??? Oh yeah, the packers will arrive the next day. They did, without proper supervision, packed badly (half my solid wood furniture was smashed to bits upon arrival). Some items were stolen, such as a large mirror.
I was promised that my goods were going to be transported in a modern, middle-sized lorry with solid sides. Instead, to my utter horror, a huge monstrocity, perhaps three decades old, with canvas sides was to be the means of transport. It was too big to leave the main road, so the Dolphin packers used a small van to carry the goods from my house to the parked lorry in numerous trips. My belongings didn't even fill half the lorry and were tied together with bits of rope.
At least the driver promised to be careful on the long journey to Istanbul, where we were to meet three days later, at the customs station. To my surprise, the old junk of a vehicle arrived on the due date, but all documents were still in the hands of the North Cyprus agents, out of pure negligence. Without the documents custom clearance was impossible. I immediately got in touch with the agent who denied to be in possession of the documents. For the next three weeks, I pestered this man several times a day, until the documents 'miraculously appeared' somewhere in his desk. Another few days passed, until he kindly sent them to Istanbul by DHL.
Meanwhile, my goods had been dumped at some corner of the customs barracks, under a leaking roof and home of hundreds of nesting birds.
All boxes and packages were soggy and covered in filth. No further comment.

The worst experience which I ever had. They did the removal just partly and asked for more money (add up of nearly 100%) before delivering the rest. They didn´t reimburse our damaged goods - and they damaged a lot!
