Today the Association represents members in three divisions:
- eastern division is responsible for the Province of Quebec and all points East;
- central division is responsible for Ontario, and Manitoba ;
- western division is responsible British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
The basic directions of activity of the company are:
- freight forwarding: It is the party who ensures that internationally traded goods move from point of origin to point of destination to arrive:
a) at the right place;
b) at the right time;
c) in good order and condition;
d) at the most economic cost.
- logistics: Freight forwarders are constantly negotiating freight rates with transport providers, comparing the costs of moving cargo along different routes via different modes and then designing logistics infrastructures which provide the compromise between cost, speed and reliability.
