- Frozen and chilled goods have been a major part of our business since 1947. Fresh and frozen fish still remain the largest proportion of temperature controlled cargoes whether carried in commercial vessels, freezer trawlers or containers.
- Forwarding is an increasing part of our business, with Scandinavia, Europe and North America being the main areas of involvement.
The rest of the world is not left out of our activities as new and existing customers are asking for goods to be moved to and from many other areas of the globe.
- General cargoes are also an important part of the business with a weekly service being operated to and from the Faroe Islands in co-operation with Samskip.
- Involvement in the timber trade spans 60 years and our expertise covers agency, stevedoring and forwarding.
- Stevedoring is carried out by what is widely acknowledged to be the most competent workforce in the twin ports, with every type of cargo being handled efficiently and competitively under strict supervision.
- Cold Storage, dry storage and haulage are supplied using tried and tested sub-contractors who have worked for Arthur Smith over many years.
