This company has the worst customer service skills known to man. I would never recommend their services. They sent my shipment to the wrong country and have the audacity to not behave in a professional manner. I am trying to find a contact at their headquarters in Methuen, MA and when I do I will be sure to post it on the net!

My wife and I received horrible service from American Baggage and Box company. Mr Gibley did not balk at forcing us to pay an exorbitant release fee to get our own goods back from storage. We had paid in advance for the storage, and we were foregoing one month of paid storage so it was hardly a loss to him. Plus I had even delivered our boxes myself to the unprofessional-looking self-storage facility used by this entreprise!! More worrying the change of moving company was necessitated because American Baggage and Box did not have the necessary international moving papers as required by my wife's employer. It is just not worth the grief to use this company. Take your business elsewhere.

This company should not be in business! They are unprofessional, discourteous, and are predatory in taking advantage of customers who may not know the maritime rules and regulations and customer rights. I am pressing action against this company as we speak. I paid for services to deliver my cargo from Florida to Brasil and went through many changes, misinformation, extra fees and their broker Rodrimar in Brasil is just as incompetent! My cargo left for sea and arrived in Santos fine. However, when clearing customs, an agent for Rodrimar stated I needed more documentation such as copies of my passport and proof I was a U.S. citizen ! I provided all the documentation needed before my items were shipped. As it stands, my cargo never cleared customs to arriver in Salvador.This all happened while I was in Brasil and could not retrieve my cargo ! This was shocking to me and my family ! Totally frustrated, I demanded to have my cargo returned to the U.S., and was told of additional charges that would be incurred to do so. As customers we are helpless in the fact that we do not have international resources or assistance in the U.S. to help us fight this horrid injustice !

My experience is that when this company gives an approximate time or cost, the truth is approximately double what they say. I conclude that their "approximations" were lies. They told me my boxes would get to Hong Kong from Washington, DC in "approximately 33 days." The actual time was twice that. They told me I should expect to pay about $60 in fees to pick up the boxes in Hong Kong. The standard fees required in Hong Kong were more than twice that.
My boxes arrived sooty, and after two months unpacked my books still stink of engine fumes, all the way through. They were wrapped in plastic bags inside the boxes.
This was my only experience with an international shipping company. I don't know that any other company is any better.

Same as all other reviews. Horrifically overpriced, WORST customer service known to man, incompetent, and don't know what to do! Trucker was 6 hours late to deliver container, ruined about $1000 in landscaping and sprinkler systems--which they refused to pay for, because of delay, had to pay overtime for packers, took more than a week to be contacted about forms for customs, and worst of all container was TOO SMALL! Had to leave several large items behind--and was told too bad, we'll let you pay us to ship them separately at a cost of several thousand dollars.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! After I contacted other companies, was given much cheaper prices, go to a wholesaler! Do NOT go through american baggage

Extremly rude and unprofessional. Do not have any dealings with this company. I called to inquire about shipping some boxes to Seattle...the person who answered was extremely rude and hostile from the time she answered the phone. She became worse when I asked where the warehouse in Seattle was located. Disgusting behaviour, poor manners.

I have had several shipments of personal items with this company and never had a problem shipping to the UK.
Other companies have been very expensive and have no customer service capabilities but i am impressed with American Baggage.

I was concerned about some of the reviews listed here so I checked with the Better Business Bureau and they rate the company as A+.
So I sent a shipment to Australia using American Baggage and I found there rates and services to be excellent. They offer 7 day customer service which I took full advantage of and the customer services were more than courteous and informative. My costs for shipping were lower than other companies offered me. I have recommended American Baggage to my company for handling our personal and commercial freight worldwide. I cannot say enough good things about the service rendered to me by American Baggage and I intend to use them again for my future travels.

I have had my first and definitely my last experience with American Baggage. and their employee Harry Gibley.
Luckily I did not get as deeply embroiled as some of the poor reviewers here. Through a freight umbrella agency I requested quotes to send 2 shipments from the US to Australia. He chose to offer a quote, and sent an abysmal one which missed out the details of one whole shipment. When I asked him for clarification I got a brief, inadequate, defensive and useless reply ........ and that was the last time I heard from him, despite several polite emails from me to him. He only caused me irritation and waste of time, especially with the long delay while I was trying to compare several quotes, but I can imagine how bad it could have been if I had continued and used his so-called "services". Incidentally, the 1 consignment part of the 2-consignment quote which he did send was the 2nd most expensive of 9 quotes!
Avoid American Baggage and Harry Gibley! Don't take the risk, there are plenty of better shippers around.
