Overseas removals
Customers moving with Ace Removals are put in the hands of staff specially trained in importing and exporting of household goods. Your delivery dates, be it arrival at port or custom cleared and delivered to your residence, will be forwarded to you in good time. Custom restrictions and documentation advice will be available from our specially assigned overseas representative appointed to deal with every stage of your move to ensure any concerns you may have are shouldered by ourselves, leaving you to deal with other matters.
Export Wrapping
At Ace Removals we provide a wide variety of quality packaging to ensure safe transit of your goods. We utilise special cartons for books, crockery, linen, clothing, pictures, mirrors, wine, computers, bicycles, golf clubs, etc. All furniture is protected with heavy duty paper blankets, antiques with corrugated card; silverware, brass and chrome are wrapped in acid free tissue to prevent tarnishing; bubble wrap and polystyrene chips are employed for the protection of crystal and fragile articles.
Methods of transit:
1. Sea freight
Goods going by sea freight are generally placed in two sizes of container: either 20 feet (1050 cubic feet) or 40 feet (2100 cubic feet), and ferried by container ship to the nearest port to your destination.
2. Full container load (FCL)
In this instance a container will be assigned solely for your exclusive use. Delivered to your door your goods will be loaded, customs sealed and delivered directly to the port of sailing for immediate transportation.
3. Groupage
Your goods will share a container with other customers, prepared for shipment and subject to sufficient volume requirement for shipping.
4. Less container load (LCL)
Your goods are export cased by our staff at either your home or our warehouse and delivered directly to the container terminal at the port of departure and placed in a container for shipping by the shipping line.
5. Roadvan
Generally used only for European consignments. Goods are loaded at our warehouse on vans bound for your destination. This can be a part load (dates mutually agreed) or a special run with dates dictated and tailored by your requirements. VAT applies on deliveries within the EU.
6. Air freight
Goods are placed in enclosed airline pallets and placed inside an aircraft cargo hold. Advantages include speed of delivery and can be cost effective for larger consignments.
